Invited Architecture Installation for Antalya Architecture Biennale

'Water fountain' Installation for Antalya International Architecture Biennale 2015

Installation was placed inside a historical Turkish Bath in the Old Town of Antalya. The idea was to use the traditional and cultural meaning of 'Water fountain' in Turkish culture which used exist in all neighbourhoods on the streets as well as mosques, houses and public spaces. These fountains were social gathering points within the city, aside from providing drinking water from natural springs, which are almost all dried up now.

The idea was to use the traditional symbol as a metaphor to remind us of the contemporary resource / social problems we as human species are facing. Installation has a open/visible Water filtration system installed which allows the visitor to drink the filtrated water while observing the filtration process.

Wooden structure was shipped to Antalya in a box and installed in the Bath within a day with 2 men due to its interlocking joint system.
